The usual response of people who become ill after drinking alcohol is to drink again, sometimes the same liquor, ignoring the likelihood that the toxins that caused it could happen again.


A. ignoring the likelihood that the toxins that caused it could happen again

B. ignoring the likelihood that the toxins causing it could precipitate a similar physiological response

C. ignoring that the toxins that caused the illness might also precipitate another one

D. without anticipating that the toxins causing the illness could happen again

E. without anticipating that the same toxins that caused the illness might precipitate another such physiological response


Please provide answers with explanations.

IMO C
a) that cause 'it' - reference error
b)same as a)
c)
d)implies toxins could happen again (but it should be illness could happen again)
e)change in meaning

IMO E as it is phrased corectly .

A -- because of 'it'

B -- because of 'it'

C -- might also precipitate....sounds very awkward

D -- toxins causing the illness could happen again .......no clue what that meant.

i am a bit puzzled if the oa is E, i really wanna knw whts wrong with C. to me option E is a bit messy.

because of the usage of one. I am not very comfortable with this one.
