Profile evaluation:NonTrad. and *GMAT Score and GRE question

Hi,

If you could kindly evaluate my profile - I'm targeting Round 1 applications for top 10 schools, much appreciated (and I am hearing more about conditional offers now with regards to lower GMAT scores - if you had any thoughts on that too).

Additionally, would you recommend me taking the GRE to replace a weaker GMAT score?

Profile:
- College GPA of 3.35 at a US seven sisters college (int'l relations and art history double major)
- GMAT score of 620 (33V 43Q) - have taken it multiple times and this is the highest score
- Worked at two leading US fashion publications in New York as a fashion editor for 2.5 years, and moved to Asia and have been at a top wealth management firm for the past 2.5 years
- extracurriculars in college: varsity swimming, editor at college newspaper, Model UN
- extracurricular post-college: co-chair of volunteering organization for past 2.5 years
- UK citizen, int'l upbringing
- post MBA goals: entrepreneurship in the fashion industry

Dear fashionindustryapplicant,

Most business schools prefer the GMAT. While you can submit a GRE as well, there is a strong preference for the GMAT as it is designed specifically for business school. Since you have taken the test multiple times, I'm not sure taking it again will result in a much higher score. Thus having a high GRE might help to make your case for academic aptitude. Likewise, having high grades in quantitative coursework will also be helpful as your raw quant score will raise concern.

Since admissions decisions are based on more than the GMAT and GPA, your essays, recommendations, and interviews are critical to the ultimate decision. These components give you another chance to shine and make your case for a seat in the class. Be sure to convey your successful leadership and teamwork experiences in your essays as well as a solid rationale for getting your MBA in relation to your past experiences and future career goals.

Finally, I encourage you to expand your school list beyond the top 10. There are some fabulous programs in the 15-40 range that might be a great match for you.
