1. A certain basketball team that has played 2/3 of its games has a record of 17 wins and 3 losses. What is the greatest number of the remaining games that the team can lose and still win at least 3/4 of all of its games?
(A) 7
(B) 6
(C) 5
(D) 4
(E) 3
OA is D

In my previous post the fractions didn't carry over so I posted here.

Games played so far = 17 + 3 = (2/3)*Total

Therefore, total = 30, and 10 games remaining to be played.

To win at least 3/4 of the total games, at least 23 games must be won.

23 - 17 = 6 games must be won (at least)
10 - 6 = 4 games can be lost (at most).

Choose D.
