For x to be divisible by 6, x must be divisible by both 2 and 3.

Statement 1: This implies x is divisible 3.
But we don't know whether x is divisible by 2 or not.

Not sufficient

Statement 2: This implies x is even, i.e. x is divisible by 2.
But we don't know whether x is divisible by 3 or not.

Not sufficient

1 & 2 Together: Now we know that x is divisible by both 2 and 3.
Hence, x is divisible by 6.

Sufficient

[spoiler]The correct answer is C
