Distance = Rate * Time = 50 * 5 = 250

So the car travels 250 miles.

Gallons of Gas Used = Distance/Rate = 250/30 = 25/3

So the car uses 25/3 gallons of gas.

If the full tank is 12 gallons, our ratio of Used : Total = (25/3) / 12 = (25/3) / (36/3) = 25/36, and we're done!
