Are Kaplan tests tougher ?

by TargetGmat9 » Mon Oct 13, 2008 2:58 pm
With my test due in few days, the score I got on Kaplan test was heart breaking. I got 700+ in GPrep and 800Score tests That too with a couple of careless mistakes. And with minutes left at the end of each section

But Kaplan gave me a 640 !!!! And I was almost out of breath towards the end of the section !

With my target as 720+ for the final thing, I dont know whether I am doing good enough !!

Are Kaplan tests tougher than others ? Or they are more indicative ? :?:

I haven't been here that long but I am continuously amazed at how often this question pops up. Shouldn't it be a sticky thread?

Kaplan tests are WAY off. Don't bother with them. GMATPrep is of course the best. I liked PR too. You shouldn't take a ton more tests since your test is a few days away, but they have a free one on their site... www.review.com.

Forget the Kaplan score altogether and shake off the experience. Don't let it rattle you!

Kaplan tests are definitly not the real indicators dr..They use tuffer vocab which usu rattles many. :? But, Dont Worry.
I'l tel u my xp.. I took GRE previously. I scored somethin around 1250 on Kaplan and 1350 on GREPrep. I scored 1330 on GRE in the end.
In dat case Kaplan had tuff vocab in it, but GREPrep had simple vocab wid subtle questions(whose subtlety wz mor dan Kaplan's  )

Bottom Line: Dont get bothered by Kap scores.. B Cool.. RockON
All the Best :)

I'm a bit confused now - I just read somewhere on this forum that Kaplan tests now have been adjusted to more accurately reflect GMAT scores. I understood that they have stopped intentionally making their tests more difficult, but how accurate are the Kaplan tests compared to GPrep tests?

Can someone please clarify this? Just took a Kaplan test and I scored 670, which I'm ok with, but any less and I'm in the danger zone and any more and I'm really happy, so I'd like to know.
