Square root help? Is there a fast way to think about this

For this type of question. I quickly calculate with square root 2 as 1.4

A. Square root 2 = 1.4
B. 2.4
C. -0.4
D. 0.4
E. 1.4

My answer is B>A,E>D>C

Perfect (fast) solution.

Everyone should be sure to memorize the following roots for test day:
√2 ≈ 1.4
√3 ≈ 1.7
√5 ≈ 2.2
