A certain machine produces 1,000 units of product P per hour. Working continuously at this constant rate, this machine will produce how many units of product P in 7 days?

A. 7,000
B. 24,000
C. 40,000
D. 100,000
E. 168,000

OA E
A certain machine produces 1,000 units in 1 hour
So, the machine produces 24,000 units in 24 hours
In other words, the machine produces 24,000 units in 1 DAY
So, the machine produces (24,000)(7) units in 7 DAYS

(20,000)(7) = 140,000
So, (24,000)(7) = some number greater than 140,000

Answer: E

Since there are 24 hours in a day, the machine can produce 1000 x 24 x 7 = 168,000 units of product P in 7 days.
