Hi Stacy,

Would you mind telling me if I have a legitimate shot at Anderson?

Demographic: White male 28 years
GMAT: 700
Undergrad: BA Business Economics at UC Santa Barbara - 2.85 GPA
Career: 5 years in Finance, 3 promotions, position with autonomy and leadership
Other: CFA charterholder

As an alternate transcript, I so far have taken 3 classes at UC Irvine (stats, finance, treasury mgmt) with 3 A's.

I know the undergrad is ugly. Is 3 classes with A's enough?

What are my chances with good letters and recommendations?

Dear abmyers,

I do think you have a shot at Anderson. Based on your post, you have a competitive GMAT and some quality work experience. Your alternative transcript does help to mitigate your GPA, along with your GMAT. However, decisions will be made on the strength of your overall application. Thus your essays, recommendations, and interviews are key to the process. If you haven't already, you should visit the campus and establish a rapport with someone in the admissions office.
