Free KAPLAN online test

Dear Forum members,

I gave the free online KAPLAN test yesterday and got a feeling that it was not adaptive. I'd like to hear more about everyone else's experiences and what to make of the score.

While I gave the MGMAT and GMAT Prep, I've scored around 720 (+/- 10). However, KAPLAN got me back to 660. As I saw the solutions and the sequence of questions that were given to me, it did not appear as though the difficulty of the questions changed based on my incorrect answers.

Maybe I am wrong but I just wanted to make sense of this score.

Looking forward to all your insights. Will help me tweak my strategy, if required.

Kind regards,

Vikas

It is adaptive.

#1 there is variability in all CAT exams

Adding to Jim's list, we have...

#3 test-taker variability

Student's scores can fluctuate on a daily basis. Sometimes a difficult math question or a complicated RC passage will totally throw a student off and he/she has trouble recovering for the remainder of the test. This can result in a dramatic drop in score.

My advice: Don't get too worried about one bad score.

Cheers,
Brent
