Advice Needed!

by snyd643 » Thu Aug 20, 2009 11:10 am
I have been studying on my own for the last couple of months and will be taking the GMAT tomorrow. I have yet to score higher than a 640 on any type of practice test (scored a 640 on gmat prep, 600 on MGMAT and only in the 500s for Kaplan, about 10 practice tests taken over last couple of months). I consistently score higher on Verbal.

Should I cut my losses and wait on taking it? I am aiming for above a 650, with hopes of 680 and upon a miracle, a 700.

All incite and advice is welcome!

I don't think it will do you any good to not show up. You'll lose the $250 anyway, so why not go for it? Remember: most test-takers go for at least two tries, so no one's going to kill you if you don't get it just right the very first time.

One thing is for sure: if you don't go tomorrow, you'll lose two things:
- $250
- an experience that could help you feel better the next time you go for it. We get better at stuff if we're familiar with them!
