Need your advice, please!

Please help me!!!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here’s a brief background about myself:
-Taken the GMAT twice: 380 and 420 score
-Taken the Veritas Prep Course and felt ripped off
-Just got rejected by 3 schools
-Undergrad GPA 2.84
-8 years of full time work experience
-Studied OG 11, supplemental guides, Kaplan comprehensive program and more.

The bottom line is that I know I’m not the book smart type of person, but I consider myself quite witty. I studied so hard for the GMAT, why can’t I even score an average score (540)??? I see everyone posting their 700+ scores, I feel really stupid .

Even though I feel discouraged, I still haven’t given up on pursuing my MBA. I’m planning to take another prep course and study extra hard in hopes to score in high 500s-low 600s. I’m not looking to go to a top tier school, but I don’t want to settle for an online school either. So realistically I need at least a 580 to be considered from the schools I applied.

Those who had taken a prep course in the pass, please share your experience with me. I’m looking for the utmost strategies/shortcuts prep course to enhance my test taking ability. Also, did you feel that the prep course helped at all? Your opinion on Manhattan GMAT, Princeton Review, Veritas and Kaplan.

Thanks in advance for all your support!

I think you're in the right place. Dig into the archives using the google search at the top right of this page. You'll find many member opinions of the various courses available for your prep.

Glad to see that you're undeterred from achieving your business school dreams!

Is this LeonC626 from the "other" site? :)

Now that you're here, please take a look at Lee's blog thread.
https://www.beatthegmat.com/my-blog-erro ... t4899.html
He painstakingly shows you--and everyone else--exactly how to do the critical self analysis and details the many different new ideas and theories he works on to improve his way of working through the problems. It's a long ass thread, but you really need to read it through. It will show you in a detailed way what you need to do to self analyze and improve and change your methods of attacking your problems. If your current method isn't working, try something new, something different.

beatthegmat also has a very detailed blog detailing everything he did while studying for the GMAT. You should read his entries as well. The reason why it's important to read their detailed entries is so you can learn from their way of thinking, analyzing, and improving upon their methodologies. If you really want to improve, you'll need to put in the time to learn to think differently. :)

Good luck!
