2+2 program Urgent help with low GMAT score!

by Ashtangi » Tue Jun 30, 2009 12:34 pm
Stacy,

I am in a serious predicament, I got a 530 on the GMAT today and the 2+2 deadline is tomorrow@#!

Before I started to prepare, I scored 550 29 quant 36 verbal on the offical prep test (GMATPrep). I prepared for six weeks (Veritas full course)and really improved my skills. Last week I took the other GMATPrep and repeatad the first, I scored 660 39 quant 42 verbal and 700 38 quant 47 verbal. I arrived to NY from China on the last day of April so I had no time to prepare for and potentially re-take the GMAT before the deadline.

Mini profile:

Mexican, 3.9 GPA International business(private Jesuit university, in Mexico) with almost straight A+'s in all my quant classes. I am fluent in Spanish, English and Mandarin, I worked at an NGO in China -where I worked and lived for 18 months - and have significant extracurriculars in Mexico - certified Yoga instructor, hospital clown. My internships include Procter & Gamble - Marketing - as well as a NY based event management company.

I know 530 is on the "are you kidding me" range, but since I have put a lot of time and effort on my application I will still submit it. I know I can score much higher than I did today and have already scheduled a re-take for August 3rd. Any advice as to how I can best phrase this UNFORTUNATE event on the additional information section?

Hope anyone can help before the deadline.
