This is OG 12 DS # 24. I am confused as to how the answer can be D if both statements allow n to be 0 which is neither even or odd. Please help.
I am giving the question here:
If n is an integer, is n even?
(1) n^ - 1 is an odd integer
(2) 3n+4 is an even integer
OA is "D"
I agree with Goals4hos.
(1)for a case when, n^ - 1 = -1 => n=0, which is neither even nor odd
(1)for a case when, 3n+4 = 4 => n=0, which is neither even nor odd
so each statement alone is not sufficient and both together are also not sufficient.
