Chicago part-time vs UCLA part-time? - Help Please
This topic has expert replies
I was recently accepted to both the Chicago and UCLA part-time programs. I currently work and live in LA and can take an internal transfer to the Chicago area. I am interested in investment management, but would like to work and live in California post-MBA. Chicago is argueably the very best school for my career interests, however, UCLA is still a great school and is located in the area I would like to work. I feel that attending UCLA would allow me to network more easily with the firms in this region. Would it be a poor decision to choose UCLA over the prestigous University of Chicago?

UCLA is a top ranked school and generally a top five part time program. You can't go wrong there because travel will not be as big of a concern.
Going to Chicago will mean traveling over halfway through the country presumably every other week and it will be expensive to do such travel, so that needs to be taken into consideration too.
Congrats on the acceptances and good luck with your decision.

Thanks for your reply. If I attend Chicago I will relocate to the area, which is generally a less expensive place to live as compared to Los Angeles. However, I would like to move back to Califonia post-MBA. The Booth brand is global in reach. But I dont want to underestimate the power of the UCLA network in California, either.
