Profile Evaluation Please

by jpbarkan » Mon Jan 12, 2009 8:07 pm
Below are some of the stats

University of Arizona Graduate 2006: 3.17 GPA
Major: Regional Development & Business
Major GPA: 3.25

Worked for one year at a corporate real estate consulting firm and then 1.5 years at a private equity commercial real estate investment firm as an investment analyst. Prior to graduating I had held internships every semester and summer since the beginning of my sophomore year of college, all of these being with different commercial real estate companies. Does this help?

I have taken two practice GMAT tests with no study. (Just signed up for a course) but my scores are 560(Kaplan) & 640(GMATPrep) which i took today. My goal is north of 650 but not sure which score to trust to start out with. I plan on taking the GMAT the first week of March after the class ends. I am currently looking at USC, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Univ of Florida, ASU, BU, Temple, Vanderbilt, Maryland. As you can see the list is long but any feedback as to the chances of me getting into any of these, USC & Ohio State being top choices, along with other schools you can suggest would be helpful.

Thanks in advance!

It's hard to assess your chances at a school without knowing your GMAT. USC is strong in RE. I've heard good things about Wisconsin. I am not familiar with the other schools' real estate departments. Also check out UNC Kenan Flager.

My score

by jpbarkan » Wed Jan 14, 2009 9:07 pm
Basically after talking to my gmatprep teacher he says to trust the 640 so I would assume north of there to be my score. Can anyone else comment? Thanks

yes the kaplan diagnostic is designed to be impossible. I scored a 440 on it and finished up with a 630 on the actual GMAT.
