As an entrepreneur, I've never had a supervisor. Also, my business is not one that's based on client relationships. I've had thousands of clients but none of them could really write me a recommendation. Same goes for my suppliers, dozens of suppliers, there are a couple who could write me a rec, but probably won't be able to write a good one. Nor did I have a business partner.
But I did have a business partner for one of my other, more ambitious--although not successful--business-projects. He has gotten to know me very well though so I had him write my first recommendation letter for me.
For my second rec:
I haven't been able to elaborate much on my community activities in my essays, so I chose for my church's priest to write the second rec. He used to be the "president" of the church (highest-ranking non-religious position) and I was the head of one of the committees. So he was able to write about that. This, I thought, was good because it elaborated on my teamwork, my community activities, my going above and beyond the requirements of the position I held, including starting new initiatives on my own...and plus he was technically my supervisor in that position (although this is not, obviously, a job-related supervisor).
Would you say that's a good mix of recs?
Thanks in advance!
