I am considering grad schools (possibly with a market research focus) but my work experience is more administrative in nature, but I am stronger in other areas. Any insight in what I can realistically expect in terms of who would accept/deny me?

Gmat 590
Gpa 3
Letters of reccomendation aren't an issue (professional, not acaemdic as my professors wouldn't remember me)
I also recently completed a comprehensive grad level certificate course related to market research, which is offered through the University of GA (didn't do too well but still passed the class).

There are some schools with a market research program that I am interested in with the Gmat average around 510-530 (Hofstra, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville).

thanks

You should appear interesting to any committee at any school where you are posting at or above the average GMAT and come with equal or greater number of years work experience, however what you do at work and where you do it is more important than how many years. If your work is more administrative, you will need to search for how you demonstrate leadership, maturity, innovation and teamwork skills. these are the pillars for a successful applicant. Market yourself well and you will have a good shot.
