GMAT 60 Day Study Thingy

by coolboarder86 » Tue Jun 22, 2010 12:58 pm
I have been a lurker here for a few months while finishing up my last semester of college and I can tell you that I am excited for this 60 day study guide. I actually went out today and purchased all the books for the guide. I have these books sitting at my desk waiting for tomorrow. I am curious, is there anything I should be doing beforehand, to get myself more familiarized with the GMAT? I mean, I have been looking over the basics of the test, buy anything else before this all get started tomorrow?

Hey there and welcome to our community. Glad you signed up for the 60 day study plan, we're really excited about it. I was one of the team members who reviewed the plan and I can tell you that you have a few introductory days (three or something like that) to help you familiarize yourself with the test. You'll find links and "directions" to the best resources to give you a better idea of the GMAT in the emails.

Good luck!

Hey guys,

i am having kaplan 2008 premier edition and all the other study guides mentioned in signup page.

Please let me know whether "Kaplan 2008" (instead of Kaplan 2010-2011) would that be sufficient to manage - GMAT 60 Day Study plan

The Kaplan books have not changed much in the past years, so I suspect you'll be fine with the 2008 edition.

If you don't have the latest version of the books, it's still possible to follow the Study Guide, since each email clearly outlines the specific concepts you should study for that day.
For example, on Day 32, we suggest that you read "Chapter 4: Find the Assumption" in the Manhattan GMAT book (4th edition). If your edition has a chapter related to this topic, you will be fine. Even if you have a totally different resource, it probably has a chapter devoted to critical reasoning assumption questions.

I hope that helps.

Good luck with your studies!
