2^5 + 2^5 is the same as 2^5 * 2. (2^5 is equal to 32, so 2^5+2^5=32+32. That's the same as 32 * 2. ) Essentially you're multiplying 2^5 by 2, which makes it 2^6. (To visualize, (2*2*2*2*2)*2. There's six twos, so 2^6.

Use the same process for 3^5. It's the same as 3^5 * 3, which is 3^6.
