D ?

Being is banned in GMAT land, As probably shouldn't be used since nouns are being compared in my opinion.

OA plz.

Is "and" part of the sentence to be corrected?

is it (Using option B)
Caesarea was Herod’s city, founded as a Romanized counterweight to Hebraic Jerusalem, and as such it was regarded with loathing by the devout.
or
Caesarea was Herod’s city, founded as a Romanized counterweight to Hebraic Jerusalem, as such it was regarded with loathing by the devout.

In either of the cases, B doesnt looks a good option. D fits here well.
Thanks
Airan
