fire the substitute teachers and establishes
payment scales guaranteeing cost of living
increases.

Wht is wrong with C.

tats why establish and not establishes....

the demand is for the school board to do two things

1. fire substitute teachers
2. establish payment scales....

wht is wrong with 'establishes'....it is singular........and firing is also singular..isnt it..im confused..may b im giving u weird logic.

i think the difference is the tense

establishes is simple present tense

whereas establish like fire is base verb form.

exactly..

One should always use the base form of the word in a subjunctive construction involving a that clause.

wrong:

She recommended that john takes the ferry.

correct:

She recommended that john take the ferry.

Thanx raunekk and Rohan...that indeed was helpful ...means in Subjuntive mood , u have to use base verb form...
