22nd day- Exam

by kaudes11114 » Mon Dec 09, 2013 9:10 am
Hi,
today is 22nd day of 60 day beat the GMAT.
On 1st day when i took the test my scores for quant section were as given below
OG Diagnostic Test:- Quant 25/48 were correct
Preliminary test- GMAT Prep Software:- 39/60 (48th Percentile) were correct
Today when i took the tests again my scores are as follows
OG Diagnostic Test:- Quant 38/48 were correct
Preliminary test- GMAT Prep Software:- 43/60 (61th Percentile) were correct
My score in OG test has increased considerably but increment in the score of preliminary test is very low.
What could be the reason for that? what should i do to improve my score? Is it the case that OG test is lot easier then Preliminary test?
Please help and tell the ways to improve my Quant score. I have to get to the 51 mark in quant in any case.

Hi kaudes11114,

First off, your OG Diagnostic Test scores (from 25 to 38) indicate a significant increase.

Although the increase in your GMATPrep test scores (from 39 to 43) is not a huge as your Diagnostic Test increase, you have still moved from the 48th percentile to the 61st percentile.

Keep in mind that the GMAT is a test of your math and verbal skills AND it's a test of your test-taking skills (time management, endurance, etc.). So, it's quite possible that your GMATPrep scores would have increased even more if your test-taking skills were stronger. As you further develop these skills, your score will increase.

By the way, if you're interested, we have a free GMAT time management video at https://www.gmatprepnow.com/module/gener ... es?id=1244

Also keep in mind that you are only 1/3 through the 60-day plan. Your quant scores will continue to improve as you spend time identifying and strengthening your areas of weakness.

Cheers,
Brent
