GMAT SCORE PREDICTOR

by pappueshwar » Tue Jan 17, 2012 6:51 am
HI TEAM,

i have been using ur website extensively and have solved around 1300 questions so far. its an amazing web site. i would like to know:

A) how does the predictor give the scores? i mean to ask after how many correct questions does the score change. right now for me the score being shown is 550.

B) so how many questions need to be correct to move the score to 600 ? or does this also depend on toughness of the questions that i answer like CAT.

C) right now in maths i am getting all 4x pointer questions and in english i am getting 32x pointer questions, does this mean i have to improve a lot in maths? and solve some more problems to get 16x and 32x questions and move up the curve?

thanking you.
request to revert at the earliest and provide additional inpute where ever necessary.

kudos to GROCKIT.COM

regards
eshwar

thanking you all once again for this wonderful website. i have improved a lot in my verbal skills.

A) The score prediction is calculated in one of two ways. (1.) The rolling estimate displayed in the sidebar is based on an assessment of your last 50 item responses in a particular track (e.g. GMAT Verbal.) The 50 questions are constantly changing (a sliding window), so score estimates will change over time. (2.) A score projection is generated at the end of a GMAT CAT, and that takes into account only the item responses in that CAT.

B) This depends on the difficulty of the questions that are answered.

C) This does mean that your performance on the Verbal section is higher than it is on the Quantitative section, leaving more room for improvement by focusing on the Quantitative questions.

hi,'

thanks for the response... i have few clarification:

A)right now i am getting 32x pointer questions in quants and needless to say i am not getting many of the questions right. so in the 50 questions that i answer even if one question goes wrong will the score change? As of now there is no change in teh score , i mean inspite of many questions being wrong.

B) The current prediction is 610, but it also gives a range of 540 to 670. is this becoz some are going wrong so instead of showing one score it shows a range ?
