Whatever helps you is great, and I guess someone could benefit from this. However, from my studying so far, subject matter knowledge has nothing to do with doing well on RC questions. I think you and other people would be better served studying the techniques on how to attack a passage.

I agree. However, based on techniques I have used and my experience so far, paraphrasing is important in choosing correct answer for RC. I find it difficult to paraphrase on a topic which is a. Complex b. completely new to me - may be because English is my second language. Being familier with common RC topics can help, of course one should not use prior knowledge to answer an RC question.

Having said that, we may still see a new topic and if you have any techniques, please share.
