Job Switch

by joefreddy » Sun Mar 09, 2008 8:00 pm
Hi,

I have a work exp of 5 years in the banking side. I had made a job hop thrice in my career. I know that job hop of 3 in 5 years does not look good for any candidate, but had to switch for some personal reasons.

1) I know it would affect my overall ratings by the admission committee, but how much of weightage do they give for such criteria ?

Dear joefreddy:

There is no specific weight per se, but it is important to have solid reasons for your job switches. Three moves in five years is not unusual these days but could still cause some to ask you questions in the interview. Have a good answer prepared that focuses on positives--do not be negative about former employers or give reasons like "I did not like my boss". Surely you moved to a new job because it was a better opportunity or a step up in some way?

Good luck!
