Celeste worked for h hours each day for d consecutive days. If she earns $9.50 per hour, what is the total amount she earned?

A. 9.50/d + h
B. 9.50 + d + h
C. 9.50 + dh
D. 9.50h + d
E. 9.50dh

The OA is the option E.

Why is E the correct answer? I need some help. Please.

Hi VJesus12,

We're told that Celeste worked for H hours each day for D consecutive days and that she earns $9.50 per hour. We're asked for the total amount she earned. This question can be solved in several ways, including TESTing VALUES.

IF....Celeste works 2 hours a day for 2 days, then she works a total of 4 hours....
(4)($9.50) = $38

So we're looking for an answer that equals 38 when H=2 and D=2. There's only one answer that matches.

Final Answer: E
