GONE ARE THE SHARP EDGES.. SC

by KSHITIJ205 » Sun Jul 19, 2015 6:16 am
Gone are the sharp edges and jutting planes of styles from former eras; instead, designers of everything from cars to computer monitors have adopted a cornerless style of smooth surfaces and curves that is _____ more ergonomic, conforming to the shape of the body rather than flaunting shape for its own sake.______

A. more ergonomic, conforming to the shape of the body rather than flaunting shape

B. more ergonomic, conformed to the body's shape and not to flaunting shape

C. ergonomic, more conformed to the shape of the body and not to shape flaunted

D. ergonomic, conforming more to the body's shape rather than shape flaunted

E. ergonomic, conforming more to the shape of the body than flaunting shape

OA is A... why not E?

ITS IS SAYING THE STYLE IS MORE ERGONOMIC... shudnt der be a "more ergonomic than...??" The only reason i see in E being wrong is wrong is that .. More X than Y.. x AND y are to the sape and flaunting respctively.. and noun form is not parallel to "only ing-form"...

In option A, if we go by what you are saying, we are left with the thought that previous cars were not ergonomic. This is not the case. The previous cars were simply less ergonomic that present cars.
Hence we need a "more" with ergonomic

Now coming to option E
This choice has parallelism issues.
more to the shape... than flaunting...
This is not parallel
