Contradiction : New Studies suggest something still doctors are hesitant to recommend. therefore usage of Despite

Althought is used for subsiquent action.

Option drills to D & E . D is awkward. Therefore OA E .. Hope this help

I haven't look at the OA yet, but here is how I would reason:

D is wordy. Don't use "despite the fact."

A doesn't make sense. How can studies be inside some women?

B seems fine. Probably right answer.

C once again we have studies inside of women.

E seems very awkward. The commas don't make sense. It looks like the sentence should read "Despite new studies that indicate than in some women...may contribute." What may contribute? If something is essential to the sentence, and "low levels" is in this case, it shouldn't be set off by commas as if it were nonessential.

A second and closer look at B reveals an error there. "abnormally low hormone" alters the meaning and botches the whole sentence. So B must be wrong. I don't like E, but D is wordy and terribly awkward with "studies are indicating" so I guess E is the only one that works here. Still don't like it, though. There should not be a comma after women. Can I ask what is the source of this question?

Choice 'E' might look awkward with all the commas, but it's still grammatically correct.
