w + k = vpappueshwar wrote:If w + k = v, what is the value of k?
(1) v^3 = w^3
(2) v^2 = w^2
OA IS A
(1) v^3 = w^3 implies v = w
Since v = w + k, so w + k = w implies k = 0; SUFFICIENT.
(2) v² = w² implies |v| = |w|
If v = w, then k = 0 but if v = -w, then k = -2w but there can be a number of possible values for k; NOT sufficient.
The correct answer is A.
