The Acoma and Hopi are probably the two oldest surviving Pueblo communities, both dating back at least a thousand years.
A. both dating
B. both of which have dated
C. and each has dated
D. and each one dating
E. each one of which date

In this question i'm able to eliminate answer choices B, D, E....but stuck between A and C...can we have some discussion b/w A and C

A. both dating

C. and each has dated

Usgae of "and" is incorrect here because "and" joins 2 independent clause. Since second part of the sentence is an extentsion to the first part i.e. the second part is telling more about the first part and is dependent on first, so, "and" is incorrect here.

IMO A

I would also go for A because C changes the intended meaning if u read it carefully i.e "each has dated" which means either both the communities are no more existent or are no more dated and the same gets opposite to the original meaning i,e "are the two oldest surviving communities"
