I'm having a discussiong (argument) lol with my friend about the adaptive nature of the test.

Me - Let's say you finish the Quant section at a 750 level... when you start the verbal you'll start at the median level and then it will adapt going forward.

Him - If you finish the Quant section at a 750 level... when you start the Verbal Section you'll start at a 750 level.

Who is correct in this case?

My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.

You're correct. Each section assumes you begin at the 500 level. Approximately half of the test takers will get the first question right, the other half will get it wrong. This info is complikents of MLT Feb reading...lol

The scoring starts from 500 . If u answer the questions right, your score increases .And vice versa. For each section.
