Applying index numbers, minimax and maximin to data

I have an assignment due on Sunday. I have worked on this assignment for 14 hours to no avail. This is the assignment: I have to apply index number creation strategy to a data set. The data set is raw student test scores. The other part of the assignment is that I have to apply a minimax and maximin strategy to a raw data set. Can you help with the easiest way to complete this work? I have tried to create formulas for the index number but have always gotten name?, value? ect. never the number I need. I have to also create a graphic for each of these assignments.
