antelope

The number of antelope in a certain herd increases every year at a constant rate. If there are 500 antelope in the herd today, how many years will it take for the number of antelope to double?

(1) Ten years from now, there will be more than ten times the current number of antelope in the herd.

(2) If the herd were to grow in number at twice its current rate, there would be 980 antelope in the group in two years.

Plz explain st 1...

1.
more than 10 times means ther will be more than 5000

so 5000-500= 4500/10 = 450

it means every year there will increase of 450 no of anteleope

so in 2 nd year the no of antelope doubles from the previous number
sufficient

2. 980-500=480/10=48

current rate = 24 no each year so in 11 th year the no will be doubled
sufficient

so imo D is the answer
any one if i am not mistaken

IMO ans is B

from 1 we have 10 years it will be more than 10 times i.e rate is more than (5000-500)/10=450 per year . Now this can be anything from 451 .if the rate is 451 -499 it will double in3rd year but if it is anything from 500 number will double in second year-->in sufficient

from 2 ,the rate is (980-500)/2=240 hence the current rate is 120 hence number will be double after 4th year-->sufficient
