B wrong --> means that the problem occurs by a worker.
D wrong --> means that when a particular worker (not workers in general) accepts supervisory postion social problem occurs
E wrong --> talks about only a particular supervisory postion (a supervisory position) not the postions in general.

Between A and C

A --> everything looks good except the "it". "it" here doesn't have a refferent. "it" looks like reffering to a clause "when workers accept supervisory positions", and which is not correct.

C is my answer.[/b]

In GMAT SC we are expected to choose the best of the 5.

Most of the correct answers can be classified as wierd or may have a better answer choice which is not presented in the 5 choices.

I normally go with POE and try to choose the best of the 5.

IMO this is how it goes..

'and' --conjunction here is requied to join the first phrase & second phrase.
In other words when we read the first part & if it gives an incomplete meaning we need to look out a conjunction which helps us get the complete meaning by joining the second part.

I think the only misleading part in the correct answer choice is "and so" - It sounds so awkward that many people will think that the usage is wrong [ GMAT trap]


the meaning of "AND SO" -- subsequently or soon afterward (often used as sentence connectors); "then he left"; "go left first, then right"; "first came lightning, then thunder"; "we watched the late movie and then went to bed"; "and so home and to bed"
