I believe this is the correct question.

B) the new company's management stated that they planned on expanding its operations
C) the company's new managers stated their plan to expand its operations
D) the new company managers stated their plan for its operations, expanding
E) the company's new management stated that they planned to expand its operations

[spoiler]OA: C Non underlined portion says in THEIR ... therefore the noun that should follow must be PLURAL. Management is SINGULAR so any choice with management can be eliminated. A, B and E are out. From C and D, plan to expand its operations preferred over plan for its operations, expanding[/spoiler]
