Taking GMAT in a Year

by hutch24242002 » Thu Dec 15, 2011 12:11 pm
Should I take Finite Math, College Algebra, Calc, Or Stats? Should I take a combination of courses? I was going to take them at a local CC, and yes they do transfer to several local/national accredidated Universities

I'm completing a Grad Certificate in SCM and I want to make sure my Math is good to go for the test.

Most college-level math courses are overkill. For the most part, the math required for the GMAT does not exceed the math taught in grade 11. In fact many of the concepts are taught in elementary school.

If your algebra skills are weak, perhaps the Algebra course you mentioned would be okay, but even that will contain A LOT of content that is not covered on the GMAT.

Cheers,
Brent

The Algebra class is the only one that is relevant, but best to treat them as separate endeavors. You will need about 3 months of prep time for the GMAT, so maybe if you have some free time during the summer you could take care of it then...
