Bachelor's in Accounting with minor in English from LSU
Undergrad GPA: 4.0
GMAT: 680 (Q:45 V:38 AWA:5.5)
Work: 6 years working in financial services industry in NY in various derivatives structuring and trading functions
Extracurricular: active in college and fraternity alumni clubs. worked with various conservation non-profits, president of local chapter of one, sit on state board of another
Schools of interest:
Haas
Darden
UT Austin
HBS
Stanford GSB
I would say my finished essays and my recommendations are very good. I have submitted Haas application and am finished with 1 of the schools' essays. I'm very close for one and about halfway finished with editing on the final (not worried about UT yet b/c deadline is so far away). I'm scheduled to retake the GMAT this Saturday but am concerned that my time would be better sent polishing my essays (I haven't studied since taking the last test because I've been working on essays and other application stuff).
Do I have a good chance with any of the above schools? Should I "Hail Mary" and take the test Saturday on the slight chance that I can get my score up? Or should I focus on finishing the essays in hopes that my high GPA will compensate for slightly low GMAT?
Thanks in advance,
Wade
