Solution:

The area of the rectangular playground 16 meters long and 12 meters wide is 16 x 12 = 192. Since this is also the area of the rectangular garden that is 6 meters wide, the length of the rectangular garden is 192/6 = 32 meters. Therefore, the perimeter of the garden is 32(2) + 6(2) = 64 + 12 = 76 meters.

Area of rectangle = (base)(height)

Given: (area rectangular garden 6 meters wide) = (area of rectangular playground 16 meters long and 12 meters wide)
Let x = height of rectangular garden

We can write: (6)(x) = (16)(12)
Divide both sides by 6 to get: x = (16)(2) = 32
So, the rectangular garden is 6 meters wide and 32 meters long

This means the perimeter = 6 + 32 + 6 + 32 = 76 meters

Answer: D
