Took my GMAT exam today at 12:30 pm.

I felt pretty confident overall and I was scoring 710-740 on my gmat prep exams, so this comes as a blow. Especially on the quant, I think the lowest score I got on the practice exams was a 44. The questions did feel easier than usual, but I did run out of time and guess on the last 2. Verbal score was in the range that I expected. I was definitely trying to break the 700 barrier as my gpa is low and I'm trying to offset that with a stellar GMAT score.

I've done all the problems in the OG11, studies MGMAT SC Bible and took powerprep and gmatprep exams several times.

I'm trying to apply to Duke and UNC, and I believe avg gmat for Duke is 700 and UNC is 690. Should I go ahead and take it again?

If I take it again and score lower, would they take my previous score or the newest score? Do business schools consider new scores while you are on the waitlist? Thanks.

If you feel confident that you can score higher than 43 in Q and maintain your V then I would say go for it. I had a Q44 V41 (690) on my first attempt. I decided to take it a second time and got a Q48 V39 (710).

Schools take your higher of the two scores so don't worry if you don't do as well the second time. Not sure about considering scores while you are on the wait list. That is something to ask the admission office.

Just got my official score report. At least I got a 6.0 on my AWA.
