I like to thank BTG for such a nice site. I can have lot of tutor free here. I have enjoyed explanations of all the experts. I should mention the name of RON, Stewart, GMATGURUNY. I MUST say something about gmat_perfect who has explained lot of sentence correction in a very detailed manner.

My first score was 630 (Q47 V33). In my second attempt, I have read lot of materials and have studied very hard, but unfortunately the score was same 630 (Q46, V34). Then I was searching for a private tutor and finally started making progress.

Materials:

1. MGMAT SC
2. Power score CR bible
3. All the official guide
4. LSAT for RC and CR.
4. GMATPREP Tests [Each test three times]

About the test day:

I reached to the test center at 12:00. My test was scheduled from 2:00PM. I entered into the test room.

AWA:

My tutor has created a customized format for me. In followed the same. This part was nice. My score in AWA is 5.5

Math:

I have faced some critical math questions in number properties. Besides this, all other maths were under my control.

--> Learn the concept tested in gmat.
--> Read the OG explanation seriously.
--> I have read NOVA math part. I is nice.

Verbal:

SC was like a cake to me. It was very easy for me after some rigorous training. I have cracked all the SC.

CR was good, but in evaluation type question I felt difficulty. All other thing are ok. I did not find any BF. LSAT CR increased my confidence.

RC was nightmare for me at the previous tests, but after completing 15 LSAT tests, I felt comfortable in RC. After completing LSAT RC you will feel GMAT RC easy. I felt so.

Final words: Please winners never quit, and quitters never win. I I can manage 740, anyone can do this.

1. What was the difficulty level in CR and RC?
2. What was the difficulty level in math? is it like gmatprep and OG?

Perfect:

1. What was the difficulty level in CR and RC?

Answer: The difficulty level of CR is very similar to the last 100 questions of OG. The questions of gmatprep are very similar to real cr. RC is very similar to GMATPREP and OG12 edition's RC.

2. What was the difficulty level in math? is it like gmatprep and OG?

Answer: Math is similar to gmatprep questions, but OG is not good enough to have more than 45 in math. If you master OG, you can get at best 45 in math. GMATPREP questions are very similar to real math.

3. What strategy have you followed in case of RC?

Answer: I did paraphrase every paragraph; then, I have a gist of the passage. I go to answer the questions. I have practiced this technique by using LSAT RC. If you practice paraphrasing with LSAT RC, you will dominate the GMAT RC.

Answer: Quant is very similar to GMATPREP questions. I can suggest you the following tips for quant:

1. Learn every concept from OG explanations.

2. Try to categorize the questions in OG. For example, Number properties, Geometry, Ratio, Percentage, Remainder etc. Try to see what sort of techniques are tested in the relevant areas. Make your own note.

3. Practice Practice and Practice more maths.

4. Participate in the discussion of BeattheGMAT math forum. I have learned lot of things from this forum's experts. The way they explain is very easy and thorough.

5. Take some time tests. I have taken only 15 tests. My hit rate was 82%.

6. Never hesitate to ask even a silly question to the experts.

You can try NOVA GMAT math part only. It is very good. I have seen it useful.

thank you all :)

actually I have tried so many other resources that further more will just make a souffle out of the whole thing :)

I have used:

MGMAT
Kaplan (not good for strategy)
OG12
PR (o.k for tips on POE)

Best seems to be MGMAT till yet.

I just hope the OG concepts come on the real deal.Lot of others are of the opinion that OG level is mid level compared to the real ones now. (e.q I didnt find any question dealing with questions of a distance between a line and a point)

Thanks for the question.

The gap between my second and third attempts was for 70 days. 4 days after my second test, I went to a tutor , and he made a routine for 60 days. I have followed that routine. It has worked for me.

Answer: yes, i have seen simple probability questions. Simple permutation and combination should be studied clearly.

Note: In case of probability, sometimes permutation and combination are applied. So, be careful about the using of permutation and combination.
