What is the value of n?

(1) 36n ≥ n^2 + 324
(2) 325 > n^2 > 323

OA A

Source: Veritas Prep
Let's take each statement one by one.

(1) 36n ≥ n^2 + 324

0 ≥ n^2 –36n + 324

0 ≥ (n – 18)^2

n = 18. Sufficient

(2) 325 > n^2 > 323

Many values of n are possible. We cannot assume that n is an integer. Even if it were so, n = ± 18. Insufficient.

The correct answer: A

Hope this helps!
