Classifying employees is required in every company. It helps employer easy to manage his staff. However, the argument that ranking employees according to their experience and expertise is a subject that is both supported and refuted by many. Both sides of this argument will be analyzed before a reasoned conclusion is drawn.
Firstly, it is easy to see that the classifying staff according to their experience and expertise is necessary. Admittedly, the people who has better experience and expertise always can handle a harder task than other. So this kind of classifying will help employer to locate the task to the right people, who can do it best. As the result, those people who can do harder task better help company run smoothly and bring more profit to company so they should have a higher salary grade which is correlative with their contribution. Consequently, this make it clear why the ranks and salary grades in corporation should be remained.
However on the other side, it must be remember that, company can run because of contribution from each every staff. Each staff is as a part of a machine. Company cannot run without smooth operation of each its staff. For instance, if accountant staff has a calculating mistake, it may take all profit from company. Another reason should be considered is that any task is completed by the cooperation between all staff involved. If someone at lower salary grade thinks that he should contribute as half as his manager who has higher salary does, it will affect negatively to the company efficiency. Therefore, it becomes quite evident that the eliminating the ranks and salary grades according to employee's experience and expertise could also be plausible.
