If \(n > 6\) and \(3m + 5n = 0,\) then which of the following must be true?

A. \(m > 10\)
B. \(m < -10\)
C. \(m = 10\)
D. \(n < 10\)
E. \(n > 10\)

Answer: B

Solution:

Since 3m + 5n = 0, we have:

5n = -3m

n = -3m/5

Substituting -3m/5 for n in n > 6, we have:

-3m/5 > 6

-3m > 30

m < -10

Answer: B
