Can anyone understand the below question

The function *x returns the value of the highest integer smaller than x.What is *4 times*2.5?

A)10
B)8
C)6
D)7.5
E)4

Answer is C.

*x returns the value as INTEGER less than x
then *4 = 3 ( the inetger less than 4)
*2.5 = 2( the integer less than 2.5)

So,
2*3 = 6
