Let the price of boat = b and price of trailer = t

Target question => What is the price of the trailer?
Find the value of t

Statement 1 => The price of the boat is $7500 more than the price of the trailer
b = t + 7500 and t = b - 7500
The exact value of t remains unknown. Statement 1 is NOT SUFFICIENT

Statement 2 => The combined price of the boat and trailer is $15000
i.e b + t = $15000 and t = $15000 - b. The exact value of t remains unknown, statement 2 is NOT SUFFICIENT

Combining both statements together =>
From statement 1 => b =t + 7500 .....eqn 1
From statement 2 =>b + t = 15000 .......eqn 2
Substituting eqn 1 in eqn 2
b + t = 15000 where b = t + 7500
t + 7500 + t = 15000
2t + 7500 = 15000
2t = 15000 - 7500
2t/2 = 7500/2
t = $3750

Both statements combined together ARE SUFFICIENT,
Answer = C
