(1) xyz = odd
(2) yz = x

What's the best way to determine which statement is sufficient? Can any experts help?
(1) xyz = odd

=> xz = Odd/y => xz = Odd/Odd

Case 1: Say x = 9; y = 3; and z = 1, then xyz = 27 = 0dd. We have z is odd.
Case 2: If Odd/Odd is a fraction. Example, 1/3. Then we have xz = 1/3. If x = 1 and z = 1/3, then z is not Odd. Insufficient.

(2) yz = x

Case 1: If x/y = Odd. For example, 9/3 = 3. Then we have z = 3 = Odd.
Case 2: If x is odd, z is a fraction. Say x = 1 and y = 3, then z = 1/3 = Not Odd. Insufficient.

(1) and (2) together

Both the cases discussed above are applicable here too. Thus, (1) and (2) together is insufficient.

The correct answer: E

Hope this helps!
