If X<0, then √(-X*IX|) is:

a) - X
b) - 1
c) 1
d) X
e) √X

Thanks in advance!
Please note that √ means the POSITIVE ROOT ONLY.

Let x=-2.
Then √(-x*Ix|) = √(-(-2)*I-2|) = √4 = 2. This is our target.
Now plug x=-2 into the answers to see which yields our target of 2.
Only answer choice A works:
-x = -(-2) = 2.

The correct answer is A.
