In the triangle in the figure bellow, what is a in terms of b?
(A) b + 94
(B) 94 - b
(C) b - 94
(D) 70 - b
(E) 70 + b
The OA is B.
I'm really confused with this PS question. Experts, any suggestion? Thanks in advance.
Hi LUANDATO,
Let's take a look at your question.
If we look at the bigger triangle, the top angle is a+26.
Base angles are 60 and b.
Since, sum of all three angles of a triangle is 180 degrees, hence,
$$\left(a+26\right)+b+60=180$$
$$a+26+b+60=180$$
$$a+b+86=180$$
$$a+b=180-86$$
$$a+b=94$$
$$a=94-b$$
Therefore, option
B is correct.
Hope it helps.
