Schools advice

Hello ,

I'm an International candidate (non IT Indian male, GPA: 6.7/10 top 5 in class, full ride in undergrad from a top New Delhi Univ., GMAT 670) with almost 4 years U.S. work experience as a Lead Physical Therapist at global healthcare giant based in the mid-west with lots of leadership and consulting-type experience besides clinical experience, and 2 years of entrepreneurship experience in New Delhi India. Applied to Duke(Early Action), Ross, Kenan-Flagler, and Goizueta in R1. Dinged by Duke, and still waiting to hear from the other schools. Post MBA short term goals: Healthcare Consulting

I'm having a hard time deciding which school should I apply to in R2? I was considering McCombs, Johns Hopkins and Yale (for the reason Yale is not as popular with many Indian applicants, so I was hoping to be more competitive there). I was also advised to consider Berkeley and maybe even UCLA for the same reason as Yale. I was also looking into Tepper and Cornell since they are not too sticky about GMAT scores and their middle 80% GMAT range shows GMAT scores as low as 620, but on the flip-side they are very popular with Indian IT males. Also I found out Cornell is not too strong in healthcare job placements.

Please advise what schools should I look into for R2, considering my profile and post MBA career interest? I'm having a hard time deciding and would appreciate any help!

Thanks a bunch.

Well, I think your logic is pretty good and you are getting good advice. Haas is a great choice due to their strengths in your industry, and Tepper and Cornell are also good very prestigious programs, with as you pointed out, flexibility in the GMAT. I do agree with the logic about Yale, but I don't know if that's reason enough to apply somewhere (better to have a POSITIVE reason than a negative one).

Two other schools that pop into my head because of Healthcare is John Hopkins and BU... and you might look into those programs too.
